What the research actually says about the equipment on your roof

Most HVAC writing online is either a sales pitch or a repeat of a number nobody can trace. These posts cite the study, name the authors, and link the document. Where good data doesn't exist, we say so instead of inventing it.

Every figure on this blog comes from a named primary source — the Department of Energy, NIST, the EIA, national laboratories, the EPA and the CDC. Sources are listed at the bottom of each post. Figures we found but could not trace to a primary source were deliberately left out.
